How much help will I get as a foster home?

When you agree to foster, we cover all of the expenses, including food, shampoo, medicine, and vet visits to Dra Solano Clinic. We also help arrange for rides to appointments if you don’t have a car. We are here to support you and your foster dog all along the way. You only need provide the home and the love.

How long will I be a fostering?

We aim to place our dogs into adoptive homes as soon as they are ready for it, but this can take time, based on medical and behavioral issues. We ask that you commit to at least 4 months of foster care, allowing the dog time to rest and recover. If after 4 months you cannot continue to foster and the dog has not been adopted, we will work to find a new foster. At least a 4 month commitment is required.

What do I do if I see a dog in bad shape?

Sadly, there are a lot of dogs in bad condition here in the Limon Province. If you see a dog that needs help, the best thing you can do is contact us via WhatsApp and report the dog. If you are able to provide a foster home, we can act faster. As a foster home rescue, we can only take on new cases if we have foster ready to receive them.

How can I help?

We always need dog walkers, Sniff Spot Supervisors, ride coordinators, as well as donations of food, medication, dog beds, toys, leashes, and collars. We also welcome any idea for fundraisers you’d like to organize. Please fill out a volunteer form and one of our team will be in touch with you.

How do I adopt a dog?

We strive to place our dogs in the right place so that everyone feels good about the adoption. To make this possible we ask that you fill out the adoption form. A member of our team with contact you, and we’ll set up a Meet & Greet with you and the dog you’d like to meet. After that, you’ll have the option to move forward with the adoption.

Where are the dogs available for adoption?

Because we are a foster rescue program, our dogs are spread out in various foster homes across the Puerto Viejo area. If there is a dog you’d like to meet, reach out and we will set up a Meet & Greet either in your home or at Sniff Spot.
